Jersey City Public Schools require all students to wear uniforms. PS #16 strictly enforces its uniform policy throughout the year.

The Extra Mile Award was created in memory of our beloved teacher and friend, Mrs. Theresa Miceli-Mistretta. Mrs. Mistretta was a much loved and respected PS16 teacher and colleague. She was one of a kind and had a lasting impact on those who were fortunate enough to be her student. To honor the legacy of our Mrs. Mistretta, the CPA created this award in her memory.

The recipient of this award is a student who shows continuous effort in doing something above what is expected. They strive to do THEIR best through their studies, extracurriculars, and their interactions with their peers. They help create a positive environment within the classroom. This student has a great attitude and a determination to succeed. They treat others with respect and make everyone’s day a little better. Above all else they rise up and remove all excuses so they may focus on finishing strong. They never seek recognition and often shy away from the spotlight, but their efforts have not gone unnoticed.

Registration opens at 7pm on Sunday April 14th via Sign Up Genius. The CPA administrative fee has been reduced by $10 to help parents offset the fee that SignUp Genius charges you. Please double check the grade level…there are a few classes that are for Grade 1 only.

We are so excited to finally be able to share information about our After School Enrichment Clubs at the Annex!!  We know how much our students benefit from the enrichment opportunities at PS16 each year. Classes are set to begin on Wednesday, April 17 and run for 6 weeks. Registration for classes will begin on Sunday, April 14 at 7 pm. Links to register will be shared prior to registration. Congratulations to fifth grader, Devin Puri, on winning GOLD at the Hudson County STEM showcase! Devin is the first ever PS16 student to earn this recognition. Devin was also the sole recipient of the “Next Generation Award”. Devin spent several months on his science fair project entitled “Waxworms: A new hope”. Everyone at PS16 is beyond proud of Devin’s achievements.
