Registration for classes will begin on Wednesday, Oct 2 at 7 pm
- Links to register will be shared prior to registration.
- Our classes will run for 45 minutes.
- Please register your children according to their grade level.
- Double check your child’s schedule to ensure there will be no conflicts with the classes you register for.
Students (Non-CASPER) will be brought to their club at regular dismissal time (2:40) and can be collected by parent/guardian when the club finishes at 3:45.
Students in CASPER will be brought to their Afterschool Club and returned to their CASPER room when club finishes.
- A Casper parent can not pick up their child prior to 4pm on Club days.

Please note that when you register your child for a CPA After School Club you are agreeing to the following:
“I agree to place my Child in the care of the program volunteers and staff, subject to all its rules and requirements., I understand that the PS16 CPA carries liability insurance but not medical insurance, I give permission to have my Child’s image/photo taken and used in PS16 CPA After School Program future publications and/or website. All payments made are non-refundable. I understand the CPA has the right to return a payment and cancel a registration. Refunds are not given if a child misses a class. Class makeups are only scheduled if the teacher has to cancel a class, school is canceled for inclement weather, etc., Each class has a minimum enrollment requirement. If this is not met, that class will be canceled, and refunds will be given.”

Book Club with Mrs. Isoldi

- Your child will be actively engaged in a decodable reading lesson which is based on the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading. We will use colored pencils, crayons, and whiteboards to enhance our reading through interactive discussions.

- This club aims to build children’s sensory skills through hands-on and engaging activities. This will aid children in tackling complex tasks, following multistep directions, and improving their ability to problem-solve. The various activities will enable students to engage ⅗ of their senses (taste and smell will be excluded) and boost their language and motor skills. Some activities include: making sensory bottles (visual); playing sound discrimination games (auditory); making and blowing bubbles (oral); making and using paper mache (tacitle).

Writing Club

- My 6 trait writing will consist of enhancing the students’ knowledge of how to write a good paper. I will teach the students about writing prompts as well as finger spacing and different resources. Students will learn how to identify the top sentence and find the main Idea of the sentence. Therefore, using capital letters, punctuation, grammar, spelling, word choices, fluency and contractions to complete the sentence. Also, students will learn how to use their voice on paper. Students will gain the knowledge and understanding that will help him/her become strong and very successful in their writing.

- Recommended for novice and beginner players who need to learn the rules of chess and check mating fundamentals. Chess helps develop critical thinking skills, planning ahead, and thinking before acting. Children learn to see patterns, solve problems, and be more deliberate. In chess, winning and losing allows children to understand how to handle healthy competition and to learn that having an opponent is OK.
